  Josh Von Szalatnay, DVM   “Dr. Von”, raised in Saluda, SC, attended the College of Charleston where he received his undergraduate degree in biology. Upon graduation from CofC, he pursued and obtained a Veterinary Degree from the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Von has devoted much of his time and expertise to the welfare of homeless animals as well as extensive participation with Remote Area Medical, an organization devoted to rural medical and veterinary care. He is the recipient of the prestigious  Global Citizen Award  given by the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine. During his spare time, Dr. Von is currently spending much of his free time planting an orchard.

  Brittin, Practice Manager   Brittin, also raised in Saluda, SC, graduated from Saluda High and went on to pursue a degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina. As a prior Small-Business Owner, Accountant & Paralegal, Brittin is able to offer a unique approach to Veterinary Practice Management. She is an advocate for building strong customer relations and offering convenient and client-friendly services. During her free-time, she is most often found shuttling her daughter to one of her many extra-curricular activities. Brittin is also the proud owner of a Miniature Poodle, Pennie, and a Mastiff, Sadie.

  Amy, Veterinary Assistant   Another Saluda Native, Amy, has been working in the Veterinary & Nursing Field for over 10 years. Her co-workers often describe her as an outstanding Team-Player and Mentor. Amy specializes in Surgical Assisting and is most interested by foreign-body surgeries. She is the proud mom of 3 beautiful children. Amy and her family own 2 Labradors (Dusty & Dixie), a Miniature Pincher (Bella), a F3 Savannah Cat (Butterscotch AKA Butter), and Triplet Domestic Shorthair Cats.

  Tatyana, Veterinary Assistant   Tatyana, a Native of Newberry, SC, is a recent graduate of Piedmont Technical College’s Veterinary Technician Program. Her desire for learning and her ability to make her co-workers laugh make her an incredible asset  to our team.

  Kaylee, Veterinary Assistant   Kaylee, born in Midland, TX, moved to Newberry, SC as a young child. Upon graduation from Mid Carolina High School, she attended Piedmont Technical College to pursue a degree in biology. She is often referred to by her co-workers as the “Fearless” one, due to her ability to see the good in all animals. She is most often found loving on and taking “selfies” with our patients. Kaylee is the proud mother of a beautiful daughter (and also every animal that visits Newberry Animal Hospital).
